How I block lace: Step 1 - prepare a surface. Plastic bags underneath, towels on top. Sheets would work just as well.
|
How I block lace: Step 2 - washed lace item dumped on towel. Pins and blocking wires at the ready.
|
How I block lace: Step 3 - Find a straight edge to block and thread blocking wire through edge stitches.

How I block lace: Step 4 - Starting at the center, pull each side out a bit at a time along the blocking wire and pin in place with T-pins
|
How I block lace: Step 5 - Pull the center point out and pin a couple pins along the center line of the shawl. Smooth out the sides and pin them a couple places in the middle
|
How I block lace: Step 6 - Pin out fiddly points and leave the shawl to dry overnight. I pinned this out Saturday at, um, 2 am and it was dry by Sunday 4 pm.

Finished Flower Basket shawl measures 53" across the top edge.
